To further enhance the continuous expansion and growth of the company, the SHL Group, with offices and facilities located around the world in Taiwan, Sweden, China and the US, has recently implemented a new ERP system from Epicor to further optimize and streamline current business operations.

As a designer and manufacturer of advanced drug delivery devices such as auto injectors, pen injectors and inhaler systems, SHL works with some of the world’s top pharmaceutical companies and has to adhere to strict FDA regulations as well as providing detailed process reports when requested. Although the ERP system developed in-house has been sufficient in supporting such needs, SHL made the decision to implement a single integrated Epicor ERP system to handle the company’s increasing range and number of business processes in an even more centralized manner.

The new ERP system from Epicor provides much flexibility since customized processes can now be easily built to suit specific business or project needs. SHL General Manager Frank Isaksson commented on the importance of having a comprehensive ERP system and solutions that get the job done. "As one of the established suppliers of drug delivery devices, such as auto injectors, our business processes follow strict workflows," said Isaksson. "It's important that our ERP system can support this so that we can generate concise and timely reports. Furthermore, we must be able to view the various events in 'real-time' that affect the manufacture of our customers' products, especially when dealing with the world's largest biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Handling product volumes in the tens of millions is a challenge for any company in this field, and we as a company will always seek out solutions that help to streamline our processes and enhance efficiency."
