January 20, 2009 [Taoyuan, Taiwan]: During SHL’s annual company celebrations this year, the internationally recognized designer and supplier of auto-injectors presented 4 charitable donations to World Vision Taiwan, Eden Social Welfare Foundation, Grace Home Church of Taiwan, and the Red Cross Society. The donations were made on behalf of all employees from SHL globally and were presented by Roger Samuelsson and three other senior members of staff as part of an on-going CSR (Company Social Responsibility) program. The total, amounting to 1 million NTD, will be used to help the homeless and poor both nationally and internationally, according to the discretion of the individual charity.
Over recent years, SHL has been increasing its efforts to work more closely with national and international charity organizations and collaborating with customers and partners in other charitable activities. Commenting on the timing of the donation, Steven Kaufman, Marketing Director said, “Support is needed now more than ever. We care about CSR and so do our customers. We are currently encouraging all employees globally to find ways to give back to the communities they work in.” SHL currently employs 1600 members of staff and is looking to expand further over the coming 5 years.
Roger Samuelsson, President of SHL explained, “These things are not compulsory, but for us, it’s the right thing to do and it’s the right time too. We will continue to participate in various charity activities over the coming months. In the future, SHL plans to build closer relationships with the organizations, looking for ways to continue contributing back to the society.”
