The tour took place at SHL’s primary manufacturing facility “Taoyuan One”, which is the largest of the production sites and serves as the group’s corporate headquarters. Managers from the CNC, Tooling and Molding departments showed engineering students how world-class machinery can be used effectively to produce leading medical products that must adhere to the strictest guidelines of quality. Students were shown the finished products, including SHL’s Disposable Auto-Injector DAI™ platform that has become a benchmark for design and usability. Professor Y S Chen said, “I’ve been looking for a chance to show students the practical side of what they are learning. We’ve all gained a lot from this experience and were really impressed by the high-tech machinery, clean working environment and professional staff.”

“It’s really been amazing to see these precision machines”, said a student from the University. “It also helped me realize there is a gap between school and a career. I’ve decided to devote myself to a more specialized field for a stronger career. This experience has helped me come up with a clear blueprint for my future.”

Providing a formal welcome and introduction were SHL’s President and Founder Roger Samuelsson and Marketing Director, Steven Kaufman. During his address to the group Steven Kaufman said, “SHL is striving to work closer with local communities and improve our relations with academic institutions. This is just one of many events we hope to host over the coming years. It’s a privilege to welcome you all here and hope that sometime in the future some of you will be back here working in the same departments you visit today.”

Located in Taoyuan City and employing close to 900 people from the region, SHL is growing rapidly and trying to expand its relationship with local educational institutions by supporting certain programs in engineering and programming. “Our aim is to provide students with a vision for their career” said President and founder of SHL, Roger Samuelsson. “We welcome Taiwan’s students who major in related subjects to join SHL in the near future.”
